World Power Plants is an open, continuously updated database of electricity generating stations around the globe. Our mission is to make the physical infrastructure of the world’s energy system transparent, searchable and free for everyone.

We track capacity, fuel type, commissioning year, ownership and precise location for tens of thousands of plants across every inhabited continent. The data is community-verified and published under an open licence.
