Vattenfall Nederland Centrale Almere is a 120 MW gas-fired power plant located in Almere, Netherlands, operated by Vattenfall. The plant generates electricity using natural gas and contributes to the country’s overall energy production.

It is the 33rd largest gas plant in the Netherlands. With 120 MW, it represents 0.45% of the country’s total gas capacity of 26,558 MW. The Netherlands has 39 gas plants with a combined capacity of 26,558 MW. Compared to the country’s largest gas plant, Eems at 2,465 MW, this facility is about 4.9% the size.

Natural gas plays a significant role in the Netherlands‘ energy mix, accounting for approximately 40% of the country’s electricity generation. The use of gas helps to balance intermittent renewable sources and supports energy security. The plant is located in the province of Flevoland, approximately 20 km east of Amsterdam.
