Praia Formosa — 105 MW Wind

Praia Formosa is a 105 MW wind power plant located in Brazil, commissioned in 2009. It generates electricity using wind energy and is part of Brazil’s expanding renewable energy sector.

Praia Formosa ranks as the 3rd largest wind plant in Brazil. With 105 MW, it represents approximately 0.93% of Brazil’s total wind capacity of 11,309 MW. Brazil has 410 wind plants with a combined capacity of 11,309 MW. Compared to the largest wind plant, Campos Neutrais Wind Farm at 583 MW, Praia Formosa is about 18% the size.

Wind energy contributes significantly to Brazil’s energy mix, accounting for around 9% of the country’s total electricity generation. The facility is situated in the northeastern region of Brazil, approximately 350 km from the city of São Luís.
