Arada-Montemuro — 121 MW Wind

Arada-Montemuro is a 121.2 MW wind power plant located in Portugal, commissioned in 2008. The facility generates electricity using wind energy, contributing to the country’s renewable energy capacity.

It ranks as the 7th largest wind plant in Portugal. With a capacity of 121.2 MW, it represents 2.46% of the country’s total wind capacity of 4,935 MW. Portugal has 222 wind plants with a combined capacity of 4,935 MW. Compared to the largest wind plant, Alto Douro at 253 MW, Arada-Montemuro is approximately half its size.

Wind energy is an increasingly important part of Portugal’s energy mix, contributing to the country’s goals for renewable energy generation. The country has favorable wind conditions, particularly in coastal areas. The plant is located in the northern region of Portugal, approximately 80 km from Porto.
