Cao Ngan — 115 MW Coal

Cao Ngan is a 115 MW coal-fired power plant located in Vietnam, operated by Vinacomin. The plant generates electricity from coal and is part of Vietnam’s energy infrastructure.

It ranks as the 29th largest coal plant in Vietnam. With a capacity of 115 MW, it represents 0.55% of the country’s total coal capacity of 21,016 MW. Vietnam has 35 coal plants with a combined capacity of 21,016 MW. Compared to the largest coal plant, Nhà máy Nhiệt điện Duyên Hải 1 at 1,245 MW, Cao Ngan is approximately 9.2% the size.

Coal is a major energy source in Vietnam, contributing to about 40% of the country’s electricity generation. The government continues to invest in coal infrastructure to meet growing energy demands. Cao Ngan is located in the northern region of Vietnam, approximately 50 km from Hanoi.
