Bahia las Minas Coal Power Plant Panama is a 120 MW coal-fired power plant located in Colón Province, Panama. This facility is currently the only coal power plant in the country, generating electricity since its establishment.

As the sole coal power plant in Panama, Bahia las Minas ranks as the 1st largest with a total capacity of 120 MW. This plant represents 100% of Panama’s coal capacity, which totals 120 MW. In the context of Panama’s energy landscape, it is the only facility of its kind, highlighting the country’s limited reliance on coal compared to its total of 17 power plants with a combined capacity of 1,633 MW.
