About this plant

Білоцерківська ТЕЦ is a 120 MW oil-fired power plant located in Ukraine, commissioned in 1971. This facility is the only oil plant in the country and is operated to provide thermal energy for electricity generation.

It is the 1st largest oil plant in Ukraine. With 120 MW, it represents 100% of Ukraine’s total oil capacity of 120 MW. Ukraine has one oil plant, and this facility accounts for all of the country’s oil generation capacity. It is equal in size to the largest oil plant in Ukraine, Білоцерківська ТЕЦ itself.

Oil contributes minimally to Ukraine’s overall energy mix, which is dominated by natural gas and nuclear power. The reliance on oil is limited due to economic and environmental factors. Білоцерківська TЕЦ is located approximately 100 km south of Kyiv in the central part of the country.
