EL ARRAYAN — 115 MW Wind

EL ARRAYAN is a 115 MW wind power plant located in Chile, operated by PARQUE EOLICO EL ARRAYAN SPA. Commissioned in 2014, this facility harnesses wind energy to produce electricity, contributing to Chile’s renewable energy capacity.

It is the 2nd largest wind plant in Chile. With 115 MW, it represents 8.72% of Chile’s total wind capacity of 1,319 MW. Chile has 26 wind plants with a combined capacity of 1,319 MW. Compared to the largest wind plant in Chile, Parque eólico San Juan at 193 MW, EL ARRAYAN is approximately 59% the size.

Wind energy plays an increasingly significant role in Chile’s energy landscape, contributing to about 4% of the country’s electricity generation. The region’s favorable wind conditions make it suitable for wind farms. EL ARRAYAN is located in the Coquimbo Region, approximately 60 km from the city of La Serena.
