Hunderfossen is a 124 MW hydroelectric power plant located in Norway. It contributes to the country’s renewable energy landscape and is one of the many facilities utilizing hydropower.

Hunderfossen ranks as the 75th largest hydro plant in Norway, which has a total of 376 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 33,795 MW. This facility represents approximately 0.37% of Norway’s total hydro capacity. The largest hydro plant in Norway, Kvilldal, has a capacity of 1,444 MW, making Hunderfossen about one-tenth the size of this facility.

Hydropower is a dominant source of energy in Norway, accounting for over 95% of the country’s electricity generation. The geographical features of Norway, with its numerous rivers and high precipitation levels, make it ideal for hydroelectric production. Hunderfossen is situated in the Oppland region, approximately 160 km north of Oslo.
