JUAYMAH — 121 MW Natural Gas

JUAYMAH is a 121.2 MW gas-fired power plant located in Saudi Arabia, operated by the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) since its commissioning in 1976. The facility generates electricity using natural gas, contributing to the country’s overall gas power generation capacity.

It is the 46th largest gas plant in Saudi Arabia. With 121.2 MW, it represents 0.15% of the country’s total gas capacity of 78,250 MW. Saudi Arabia has 60 gas plants with a combined capacity of 78,250 MW. Compared to the country’s largest gas plant, Shoaiba Thermal Power Plant at 6,531 MW, JUAYMAH is approximately 1/54th the size.

Natural gas is a significant component of Saudi Arabia’s energy mix, accounting for a large portion of electricity generation. The country relies heavily on gas for its domestic energy needs, leveraging its abundant natural gas reserves. The plant is situated in the Eastern Province, approximately 100 km southwest of Dammam.
