Kumertauskaya TPP — 120 MW Natural Gas

Kumertauskaya TPP is a 120 MW gas-fired power plant located in Russia, operated by OJSC “Sverdlovsk Energy and Gas Company” since its commissioning in 1954. The facility generates electricity using natural gas, contributing to the country’s overall gas power generation capacity.

It is the 178th largest gas plant in Russia. With 120 MW, it represents 0.09% of Russia’s total gas capacity of 139,541 MW. Russia has 299 gas plants with a combined capacity of 139,541 MW. Compared to the country’s largest gas plant, Surgutskaya GRES-2 at 8,865 MW, this facility is approximately 1/74th the size.

Gas plays a significant role in Russia’s energy landscape, providing a substantial portion of the nation’s electricity generation. The country relies heavily on gas, which is abundant in its vast territories. The plant is situated in the Ural region, approximately 1,200 km east of Moscow.
