LANA — 120 MW Hydroelectric

LANA is a 120 MW hydroelectric power plant located in Trentino, Italy. The facility generates electricity from water resources and is one of the many hydro plants operated in the country.

LANA ranks as the 50th largest hydro plant in Italy. With 120 MW, it represents 0.56% of Italy’s total hydro capacity of 21,383 MW. Italy has 107 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 21,383 MW. Compared to the largest hydro plant in Italy, Centrale idroelettrica Luigi Einaudi at 1,200 MW, LANA is 10% the size.

Hydropower contributes significantly to Italy’s energy mix, supplying around 16% of the total electricity generation. The LANA plant utilizes the mountainous terrain of Trentino to harness water flow for energy production. It is situated approximately 100 km from Venice, a major cultural and economic center in the region.
