Leiyang Baiyang power station is a 120 MW coal-fired power plant located in Hunan Province, China, operated by Guangdong Shaoguan Energy Group since its commissioning in 2007. This facility contributes to the coal energy generation in the region.

Leiyang Baiyang ranks as the 925th largest coal plant in China. With its 120 MW capacity, it accounts for 0.01% of the country’s total coal capacity of 1,030,281 MW. China has 1,012 coal plants with a combined capacity of over 1,030,281 MW. The largest coal plant, East Hope Metals Wucaiwan power station, has a capacity of 7,000 MW, indicating that Leiyang Baiyang is a relatively small facility in the overall landscape.

Coal remains a dominant energy source in China, providing around 64% of the country’s electricity generation. The reliance on coal in Hunan Province supports local energy needs, while the plant is located approximately 150 km from Changsha.
