Miraah CSP1 — 113 MW Solar

Miraah CSP1 is a 113.4 MW solar power plant located in Oman, operational since its commissioning in 2017. The facility utilizes concentrated solar power technology to generate electricity, contributing to the country’s renewable energy objectives.

Miraah CSP1 ranks as the 2nd largest solar plant in Oman, where there are three solar facilities with a combined capacity of 1,139 MW. This plant accounts for 9.96% of Oman’s total solar capacity. The largest solar plant in the country, Miraah CSP, has a capacity of 1,021 MW, making Miraah CSP1 approximately 11% the size of the largest facility.

Solar energy is increasingly important in Oman’s energy landscape, contributing to the diversification of its energy sources. The country benefits from high solar insolation levels, making solar power a viable option for electricity generation. Miraah CSP1 is located approximately 300 km southwest of Muscat in the Al Wusta Governorate.
