Xeset 1 — 121 MW Hydroelectric

Xeset 1 is a 121 MW hydroelectric power plant located in Laos, commissioned in 1990. This facility harnesses the energy of flowing water, contributing to the country’s renewable energy generation.

Xeset 1 ranks as the 7th largest hydro plant in Laos. With a capacity of 121 MW, it represents 3.89% of Laos’s total hydro capacity of 3,109 MW. Laos has 19 hydro plants with a combined capacity of over 3,100 MW. Compared to the largest hydro plant in the country, Nam Theun 2 at 1,070 MW, Xeset 1 is approximately 11.3% the size.
