The largest hydro plant in India, the KOYNA COMPLEX, has a capacity of 1,956 MW, making MYNTDU approximately one-sixteenth the size of this facility.<\/p>\n<p>Hydroelectric power is a significant contributor to India&#8217;s energy mix, accounting for around 10% of the total electricity generation. The plant utilizes the region&#8217;s water resources effectively, supporting the country&#8217;s goals for sustainable energy.
