With 120 MW, it represents 0.76% of the country&#8217;s total hydro capacity of 15,891 MW. South Korea has 74 hydro plants with a combined capacity of 15,891 MW. Compared to the largest hydro plant, Incheon Tidal Power Station at 1,450 MW, Paldang is approximately 8.3% the size.<\/p>\n<p>Hydropower plays a minor role in South Korea&#8217;s energy mix, providing about 6% of the total electricity generation. The country relies heavily on fossil fuels, but it is increasing investments in renewable energy sources.
