Ranking as the 82nd largest power generation facility out of 293 plants in Thailand, the Ratchaprapha Dam stands as a critical component in the country’s energy landscape. With a substantial capacity of 240 MW, this hydroelectric facility contributes to 0.24% of Thailand’s total generation capability, which amounts to 99,456 MW. Positioned in a region that is rich in hydro resources, the Ratchaprapha Dam is notable for being the 15th largest hydroelectric plant among 45 in the country, underscoring its importance in the national grid. The plant utilizes the gravitational force of water to produce electricity, which is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly method of generation. This technology harnesses the potential energy of water stored in the dam, converting it into kinetic energy as it flows, which drives turbines to generate power.
