Baku ES — 105 MW Natural Gas

Baku ES is a 105 MW gas power plant located in Azerbaijan, operated by AzerEnerji and commissioned in 2007. This facility plays a role in the country’s gas-fired electricity generation.

It ranks as the 6th largest gas plant in Azerbaijan. With a capacity of 105 MW, it represents 4.39% of Azerbaijan’s total gas capacity of 2,390 MW. Azerbaijan has 8 gas plants with a combined capacity of 2,390 MW. In comparison to the largest gas plant, Janub at 780 MW, Baku ES is about 13.5% the size.

Gas is a key component of Azerbaijan’s energy landscape, providing around 95% of the country’s electricity generation. The plant is located in the Absheron region, approximately 30 km from the capital city, Baku.
