CEBU TPP(Salcon) — 107 MW Coal

CEBU TPP (Salcon) is a 106.8 MW coal-fired power plant located in Cebu, Philippines. The facility generates electricity from coal, contributing to the country’s energy supply since its commissioning.

It ranks as the 30th largest coal plant in the Philippines. With 106.8 MW, it represents 0.8% of the country’s total coal capacity of 13,351 MW. The Philippines has 34 coal plants with a combined capacity of 13,351 MW. Compared to the largest coal plant, Sual Power Plant at 1,218 MW, CEBU TPP is about one-tenth the size.

Coal remains a significant energy source in the Philippines, providing approximately 60% of the country’s electricity generation. The CEBU TPP plant is situated in a region with easy access to coal supplies, approximately 10 km from Cebu City in the Central Visayas region.
