Conquista do Pontal — 110 MW Biomass

Conquista do Pontal is a 110 MW biomass power plant located in Brazil. Commissioned in 2010, it is part of Brazil’s diverse energy portfolio and is operated by an undisclosed entity.

This facility ranks as the 18th largest biomass plant in Brazil, contributing to a total biomass capacity of 12,644 MW from 425 plants nationwide. With its 110 MW capacity, Conquista do Pontal represents approximately 0.87% of the country’s total biomass generation capacity. The largest biomass plant, Klabin Celulose, has a capacity of 330 MW, making Conquista do Pontal about one-third the size of this facility.

Biomass energy is an important renewable source in Brazil, utilized to support sustainable development and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The country’s vast agricultural sector provides ample feedstock for biomass generation. The plant is located approximately 300 km northwest of São Paulo in the São Paulo state.
