Amandina — 120 MW Biomass

Amandina is a 120 MW biomass power plant located in Brazil, commissioned in 2014. The facility generates electricity using biomass resources, contributing to the renewable energy landscape in the country.

It is the 14th largest biomass plant in Brazil. With 120 MW, it represents 0.95% of the country’s total biomass capacity of 12,644 MW. Brazil has 425 biomass plants with a combined capacity of 12,644 MW. Compared to the largest biomass plant, Klabin Celulose at 330 MW, Amandina is about one-third its size.

Biomass plays a growing role in Brazil’s energy mix, contributing to sustainability and energy diversification. The Amandina plant is strategically located in the central-western region of Brazil, approximately 400 km from Brasília.
