Jataí — 105 MW Biomass

Jataí is a 105 MW biomass power plant located in Brazil, commissioned in 2013. It operates on biomass fuel and contributes to Brazil’s renewable energy generation capacity.

Jataí ranks as the 21st largest biomass plant in Brazil. With 105 MW, it represents 0.83% of Brazil’s total biomass capacity of 12,644 MW. Brazil has 425 biomass plants with a combined capacity of 12,644 MW. Compared to the largest biomass plant, Klabin Celulose at 330 MW, Jataí is roughly one-third the size.

Biomass is an important component of Brazil’s energy mix, accounting for approximately 5% of the country’s total electricity generation. The facility utilizes agricultural residues, aligning with Brazil’s strategy to enhance renewable energy sources. Jataí is situated in the Central-West region, approximately 600 km from Brasília.
