Hauts Plateaux Centre — 107 MW Solar

Hauts Plateaux Centre is a 106.6 MW solar power plant located in Algeria. The facility contributes to the solar energy generation in the country and is part of a growing renewable energy sector.

It ranks as the 2nd largest solar plant in Algeria, which has a total of 27 solar plants with a combined capacity of 976 MW. Hauts Plateaux Centre represents approximately 10.92% of Algeria’s total solar capacity. The largest solar plant in the country, Adrar, has a capacity of 231 MW, making Hauts Plateaux Centre about 46.1% the size of this facility.

Solar energy is increasingly becoming a key focus in Algeria’s energy strategy, aiming to diversify its energy sources. The country has vast areas of land with high solar potential, particularly in the southern regions. Hauts Plateaux Centre is located in the Saharan region, approximately 400 km southeast of Algiers.
